EMBRACE Professional Training Program

A shared space for learning and collaboration

EMBRACE Future: Strengthening Children’s Mental Health Through Professional Training

Interest in children’s mental health, well-being, and resilience is stronger than ever. 79 teachers and 67 professionals from key areas, DGASPC, CJRAE/CRAE, school inspectorates, NGOs, and other support services, have already signed up for the EMBRACE professional training program.

This high level of participation confirms one essential thing: an increasing number of professionals working with children understand how important it is to view child education and protection through the lens of mental health.

A shared space for learning and collaboration

The training program, run by the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations for Children (FONPC, fonpc.ro) together with its partners, brings together teachers and support service specialists, creating a common space for reflection, learning, and collaboration. The objective is clear: to establish a network of professionals who can more effectively address the emotional and psychosocial needs of children, particularly those in vulnerable situations.

Topics grounded in real-life challenges

What is discussed in the courses? The training agenda addresses topics that are essential to the reality in schools and communities:

✅ child safety and protection;

✅ bullying, exclusion, and marginalization;

✅ gender perspective in addressing mental health;

✅ children’s participation in decisions that affect them;

✅ supporting mental health and overall well-being in school;

✅ applying restorative practices to increase student resilience;

✅ supporting parents in developing protective behaviors.

These topics are addressed in a way that connects theory to practice, encouraging participants to reflect on their professional roles and the concrete challenges they face in their work with children.

A blended and practical training format

The large number of registrations shows not only interest but also professional responsibility. Teachers and specialists in education, child protection, and social services are sending a clear message: children’s mental health is no longer a secondary issue but a priority.

Through the EMBRACE Future, these professionals are choosing to develop their skills, work better together, and actively contribute to building safer, more empathetic schools and communities that are more sensitive to children’s emotional needs.
